What I'm building and why
A quick introduction to who I am, what I'm building, and what I plan to write about here.
Hello
This is the first post on this blog. A good place to explain what this site is about and who it’s for.
I’m Ricardo, an Android developer based in Porto. I’ve been building Android apps professionally for a few years, Android Automotive, AOSP and recently started exploring the intersection of mobile and AI.
What I’m building
I have two Android apps in the works. This site started partly because I needed a professional home for them — but it’s also a place to write about what I learn.
What I’ll write about
Four main themes:
- Android — architecture decisions, Jetpack Compose, Kotlin, lessons from real projects
- AOSP — system-level Android, custom builds, things the official docs don’t cover well
- AI & Tools — using LLMs in apps, automation, what actually works in production
- Builder Log — the process of building and launching as a side project
Why English
Most of what I want to write about is technical and niche. Writing in English means reaching the people most likely to find it useful — regardless of where they are.
That said, I might write some posts in Portuguese too. We’ll see.
