About
Diário das Francesinhas is a mobile app designed for people who love exploring francesinhas and want to keep a personal food journal in one place.
You can log each experience with a photo, rating, date, comment, and location, so you always remember what you tried and where.
Beyond personal tracking, the app includes a community feed where users share posts, discover new places, and save restaurants for later.
I built this project to combine local food culture with modern Android development using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Firebase—focusing on clean UX, practical features, and real-world usability.
Features
- Personal food journal with photo, rating, notes, and location per entry
- Home search and filtering (submit-based search, year filter, exact rating filter)
- Flexible sorting (newest, oldest, rating, and alphabetical place name)
- Community feed with moderated posts (pending, approved, rejected)
- Save places from feed posts to a dedicated Saved tab
- Map integration for place context and exploration
- Modern Android architecture with Jetpack Compose + Firebase backend
